The Cala d’Or rediscovers a nautical past which dates back to the earliest Mediterranean seafarers:

Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans who left numismatic witness of their passing in the more than 1,000 coins, which have been recovered when dredging the port. In order to protect this natural enclave, a small fort was raised at the mouth to defend us, during the reign of Felipe IV - the irony and chance of historical development – for those whom we now receive with open arms. At present, and with the intention of continuing its immemorial sea faring tradition, it provides you with an inner harbour naturally protected from all the winds and a full range of services capable of satisfying the most demanding client, are available all year round.
